American Paint Horse Association



Naming rules: No more than 21 characters, no punctuation marks, numbers, or Roman numerals. No profanity in the name. No two horses registered by the American Paint Horse Association may have the same name or similar sounding names.
Family names are traditional, but not required.

An (r) denotes a real horse used in the pedigree; (TB) denotes a Thoroughbred; (QH) denotes a Quarter Horse.
Any of my horses who trace back to the real Quarter Horse Impressive are tested N/N for HYPP. Also, all horses tracing to the real QH Poco Bueno are tested N/N for HERDA.

Please note: Because of the possibility of OLWS (Overo Lethal White Syndrome) in real horses, I will not breed two horses carrying the frame gene. Frame on its own does not cause any disease in horses, but if a foal inherits frame from both parents (a 1 in 4 chance when breeding two frame carriers), it will not live more than a few days. All of my horses carrying frame are noted, and can be bred with any horse NOT carrying frame.

The horses on this page with a Thoroughbred parent(s) are also dual-registered with the Pinto Horse Association of America as Hunter-type. They would be good crosses for Hunter type Pintos, American Warmbloods and race- or pleasure-bred Paints.

Outcrosses I will definitely accept:
Thoroughbred or Quarter Horse for a registered American Paint Horse
Arabian for a registered Part-Arabian
Any other breed that would result in a foal acceptable to be registered with the Pinto Horse Association of America

I will probably allow other reasonable outcrosses (registered or not) from most of my horses, just ask before sending the breeding request, thanks!
